Ingredients:
For the Pork Belly:
- 500g pork belly, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (for crispiness)
- 1 tbsp oil (for frying)
For the Sticky Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp rice vinegar (or lime juice)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare & Cook the Pork Belly
- Season & Coat: In a bowl, season pork belly pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss with cornstarch for extra crispiness.
- Pan-Fry: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add pork belly and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Sticky Sauce
- In the same pan, reduce heat to medium. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, vinegar, and water. Stir well and simmer until slightly thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
Step 3: Coat the Pork & Serve
- Return crispy pork belly to the pan, tossing in the sauce until well-coated and sticky.
- Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
